Football is my life, and for the past two years I have played for the Kenston Bomber football team. Standing on the sidelines for those two years there was a quiet, but confident man, his name is Rick Adams. With a run-and-gun offense and a smashmouth defense, Coach Adams paved his way into the elite circle of CVC coaches.
During his four seasons as coach he prowled the sidelines for the varsity team, leading them to an impressive 7-3 record in 2005, a half of percentage point away from the state playoffs. He knows how to handle his players and his players have all the respect in the world for him.
This past weekend, Coach Adams accepted a job to become the head coach at Rocky River High School . Coach called a team meeting on Tuesday. He started the meeting by saying, "This is probably the hardest thing I've ever done when you pour your heart and soul into a program and then you have to leave."Coach also stated, "The roots of a great program are here fellas, sometimes life throws adversity your way and football and life are closely related." "It’s time for the juniors to step up as leaders and for all the underclassman to work hard and become leaders for years to come."
We will all greatly miss Coach Adams he is a great coach and has a great philosophy on life. On behalf of the Bomber Football Family and the Community of Kenston, we wish Coach Adams the best of luck in his new home, and we hope they appreciate him just as much as we have these past four years.
