Soccer Season comes to an end

Scott BurgessThe boy's soccer season came to end last week on October 18, 2008. The boys would not go down easy; they fought hard and battled the tough Lake Catholic team. However, they received no help from referees during this scuffle at the Kenston Bomber's home field. The Bombers lost this hard fought battle 2-1, with a goal from Jared Williams off a free kick into the lower left corner.

From Home Page All in all the season was a good one, even after losing six seniors and key junior Ryan Mcquigg who moved to Michigan at the end of last year. The Bombers finished 8-7-2, with big season wins over Mayfield, Beachwood and Lake Catholic. With the loss against Lake Catholic, the team will say goodbye to four seniors including Jared Williams, Peter Larkin-Gero, Zachary Lewis and Bryan Sickling. Captain Jared Williams expressed his feelings on his career and said, "I will miss playing soccer and I enjoyed playing with the Kenston High School team, but the four year hour glass of my high school career has run out." Although his soccer season may be ending here, Jared is still looking to play soccer at possibly The University of Cincinnati, Xavier or Baldwin Wallace. The team will miss these four seniors as they contributed a lot to this team, but the future still looks promising for the Bombers as they will look to have a strong season next year.
