The Kenston Varsity Baseball Team is ready to start the season after their first scrimmage on March 20. The Bombers came out ready to play after a long off season of training and preparation. Kenston faced the Berkshire Badgers who have given them trouble in past seasons. However, with strong pitching performances and some key hits the Bombers were able to start their season with a 9-7 victory over the Badgers. Kenston had a great all around performance in the field and at the plate.
Kenston threw many great pitchers with stand out performances by senior Alex Wittenberg and sophomore Michael Fearer. Alex picked up exactly where he left off at the end of last season and Michael had an impressive first varsity outing. At the plate Pat Porter went three for four with three singles to lead the Bombers to victory. After the scrimmage junior Eric Monroe said, "This was a great start to the 2010 season. Hopefully we can carry this momentum to Myrtle Beach with us next week."
