Nicki Henry

Age: 17 Ht: 5-5

What Nicki did last week: She shot 36 at Punderson in wins over Aurora and Willoughby South. She was the medalist at the Chagrin Valley Conference tournament for the third straight year with a 75, which earned a second league MVP award.

About Nicki: Member of the jazz concert band and science Olympiad. Will attend Eastern Kentucky and major in professional golf management. Favorites include "Grey's Anatomy" TV show, Panera Bread restaurant and business class. Created birdiesforeALS.com website.

McDonald's Student Athlete of the Week for Sept. 22 is Nicki Henry, a senior golfer at Kenston High School.

In her fourth year as varsity, Henry serves as the team captain. Her GPA is 3.9 and she's in the National Honor Society, jazz and concert band, and in Science Olympiad.

"I'm going to the University of Eastern Kentucky. I committed a week ago and I'm going to major in professional golf management," said Henry.

On the course: Shot rounds of 73 at Candywood and Sweetbriar and also carded a school-record 67 at Kent State.

Off the course: Is playing for the Bright Side of the Road Foundation (for ALS). Sponsors donate money for every birdie Henry makes this year; favorite subject is science; favorit food is pasta.
