Interact is a great club at Kenston High School that does volunteer work for people across the Greater Cleveland area as well as many local events here at Kenston. Kayla Gholson, a member of Interact had this to say, "I love Interact because it gives me a chance to give back to the community because I am so grateful for everything that I have."
Currently, there are football clean ups every Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the school for all of the rest of the home games which are October 16 and 18. Another clean up project coming up soon is the Geauga clean up committee on October 11. If you have any questions, talk to Ms. Marshall or sign up in her room during homeroom.
Surprisingly, the holiday season is just around the corner and that is the main season for volunteers to get out and give. Within the next month, Kenston High School will be having a food drive for the Geauga county area because the food banks are at a dangerously low level. We will also be collecting toys for the toys for tots program. Starting in November, we will have a mitten tree where you can place any mittens, gloves or scarves for families who do not have clothing for the winter season. Also, the salvation needs bell ringers to help collect money for the holiday season to donate to charities in our community. Interact is a great way to get involved with your community all year round.
