Spanish Club Update

Megan CardamanThe Spanish Club dinner on Thursday, February 25, at Caballo Bayo was cancelled due to the inclement weather conditions. The restaurant outing to Caballo Bayo has been rescheduled on Thursday, March 11 at 6:30. Any interested members must turn in a new waiver form with the updated information to Sra. Lake or Sra. Krejsa. In addition to restaurant outings, the club has many fun events, including entertaining homeroom meetings and interesting after-school events.

Bomberettes at Regionals!

Shannon PesekThe Kenston Bomberette Dance Team competed this weekend in the CCC Cupid's Cheer and Dance Challenge on February 27th, 2010. They were awarded with not only two first place trophies, but also a "Best Showmanship" award. This is the second year in a row that the team has competed in this competition, held at Chardon High School. This is one of the many regional competitions that are hosted by CCC (Champion Cheer Central), and is a prerequisite to the National Championship held on March 14th. The team, led by Coach Kathy Werner and Captains Leah Clemmer, Shannon Pesek, and Renata Rozsynai, took both a high-kick style routine and a pom style routine to the competition.

New Spanish Club T-Shirts

Megan CardamanAfter much anticipation, the Spanish Club T-Shirts for the 2009-2010 members have finally arrived! Designed by freshman Austin Dickey, the t-shirts are a new tradition for the club that we hope will continue into the future. The t-shirts say, "El Club de Español" on the front with an artistic yellow font, including sombreros and cactuses.

Diversity Group

Stephen Eastman M.A.C advisor Mrs. Paulsey addressed the wants and desires of M.A.C participants, Community, and administration. So she came up with a new approach for the Minority Achievement Committee. Mrs. Paulsey has decided to maybe make it a diversity group. This basically creates a discussion with all the students that are eligible to participate.

Attention All Track Athletes

Stephen EastmanWith track season just around the corner, many students are getting in shape for the spring sport. For all of you track athletes looking to get a jump on the Outdoor Track season, Indoor track is just what you want. The Indoor Track season runs from February 8th until March 12th. Indoor Track is currently recognized as a club which is run through Kenston Community Education. This is a great program that will improve our athletes and help our school prevail over rival schools in the spring.

New Season, New Routines

Leah ClemmerWith basketball season starting up for the players, the Bomberettes Dance Team has also started to practice again themselves. Due to all the horrible weather, what was once late night practices have now been moved to right after school.
